Dr. Sara AlSayed is a Counseling Psychologist who graduated with a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Concordia University in Canada and completed her PhD in the United Kingdom at the University of Wolverhampton. She is also a chartered Psychologist of the British Psychological Society. Her doctorate research focused on stigma towards mental health in Kuwait as well as the impact of an educational intervention to decrease stigma and discrimination within the youth.
Dr. AlSayed previously worked in the Mood & Anxiety Disorders unit at the Kuwait Center for Mental Health under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad Alsuwaidan. Moreover, she worked with the NHS for three years at a primary health care clinic in the United Kingdom.
Dr. AlSayed’s clinical practice includes individual therapy, couples’ therapy and family therapy. She has extensive experience working with clients with a variety of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, bereavement, trauma, bipolar disorder, OCD, domestic violence, relationship issues, sexual and emotional abuse, phobias, eating disorders and others. She also has experience working with children with learning disabilities and autism. Dr. AlSayed is an integrative practitioner and incorporates a variety of different approaches to meet the client’s specific and unique needs. Dr. AlSayed provides therapy in English, French and Arabic.
