Prior to my employment at FSHN, I completed an MSc at the University of Edinburgh, UK, in the Psychology of Mental Health. During my degree in Edinburgh, I worked voluntarily with Edinburgh Headway center for recovering victims of Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) whereby the objective was to help (ABI) individuals transition back into normal life through practicing the use of motor and cognitive functioning skills. I also worked with the Butterfly baby Clinic (BBC) on a project to provide mothers/fathers/caregivers & infants in Alexandria, South Africa experiencing domestic abuse and poverty with basic care resources and psychoeducation to help improve their living situations.

I provides services in both fluent Arabic and English. My main interests include working with clients with Depression and Anxiety, clients with a history of trauma who may have Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and complex trauma, and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) & recovery. Aside from that, I have a deep interest in psychosis and Schizophrenia.

I like to use integrative methods and I find that drawing from different models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), along with other models such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) can be affective in achieving treatment goals. I am also interested in tackling topics such as athlete mindset development and motivation, people-pleasing and perfectionist tendencies, personal and professional boundary-setting, burnout and stress management, and general mental wellbeing. Most of all, I love to watch people thrive and achieve their full potential.Outside of the clinical world of Psychology, I have been an equestrian show-jumping athlete for almost 20 years, competing for Kuwait at a professional level. I love human-animal interaction and seek out any opportunity I can get to do so. I also practice general gym fitness training and am in the process of achieving level 2 & 3 fitness instructor certification from the UK.
