Firdous is a UK trained and licensed Counselling Psychologist and Psychotherapist who has been working with mental health for 9 years. She is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Firdous studied at the University of Strathclyde (Scotland) for her Bachelors and Post-Graduate Diploma and then went on to achieve her Masters’ degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the Queen Mary University London.
Her speciality is in the Person-centered approach to Counselling where the focus is on empowering the individual to make the best choices for themselves, the focus covers the past, present and future aspirations. She also draws on CBT and other therapies to give the client a combined approach to therapy that works best for the client. With the belief that people who are empowered to make their own choices, and to look within themselves for solutions, can lead a healthier lifestyle.
Firdous is a keen advocate in mental health accessibility for all and has worked with adults with a range of issues such as depression, anxiety, self-esteem, burnout, self-harm, suicide ideation, relationship breakdowns and work-related problems amongst many others.
In addition, Firdous is a keen believer in continuous learning and growth and continues to expand her training to better serve her clients. Some of the additional training has included: Cults and High Control Groups, Child Protection Training, Adult Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse.
