After receiving my master’s in Clinical and Research Psychology from the University of The Western Cape, South Africa, I was registered as a licensed psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). I completed a specialized clinical training in Intermediary Training in Group Analytic Psychotherapy and a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program (MBSR) in Cape Town. Prior to joining FSHN, I worked for four years at Stikland Psychiatric Hospital, South Africa, in both the inpatient Adult Therapeutic Ward and the Outpatient Department. I also worked in community clinics where I delivered psychological services to underprivileged communities. I believe that everyone deserves to find contentment and enjoy healthy relationships. In many cases, however, distress and psychological issues prevent us from achieving this. With that in mind, I help my clients (children, adolescents, and adults) develop a higher self-awareness and resilience enabling them to get over life setbacks. I also conduct psycho-educational and psychometric assessments for children and adults with learning disabilities and ADHD, as well as pre and post counseling services for patients who undergo bariatric sleeve surgeries.

In my clinical work, I incorporate psychodynamic psychotherapy and skill-based interventions such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness Stress Reduction. I have also enhanced my therapeutic skills by receiving training in a new and exciting form of therapy called Brain Working Recursive Therapy (BWRT) which is shown to be very effective for addressing a broad range of disorders, including anxiety, phobias, panic attacks, self-esteem issues, exam stress, personality disorders, trauma, and substance abuse.

Individual therapy, couples therapy, and play therapy for children.
