Dr. Isin is an experienced psychiatrist and academician. She has graduated from Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Medical School in 1990. She has started her psychiatry career in Istanbul University Istanbul Medical Faculty since 1990 and is still a part of the academic and clinical team as a Professor of Psychiatry and Head of Geriatric Psychiatry Department Istanbul University, Turkey. She has attended Northwestern University Medical School for Neuropsychiatry and Harvard University Medical School MacLean Hospital. She has achieved her full professorship in 2004.
She has been practicing psychiatry for the last 32 years. She has been heavily invested in patient care as well as tutoring and mentoring medical students, psychologists, social workers, geriatric care nurses and residents. Her main areas of interest are anxiety disorders (obscessive and compulsive disorder, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorders), mood disorders (depression, dysthimia and bipolar disorder), neuropsychiatric syndromes (cognitive declineand adult-type attention deficit disorders).
Dr. Isin has been a leading opinion leader in many Professional societies as well as medical trials and development of national policies in psychiatric patient care and she is one of the co-founders of Turkish Alzheimer Association. She has more than 50 cited publications in peer-reviwed journals, has been a co-authored 2 international and 6 national books. She has been the previous Editor of Archives of Neuropsychiatry.
