Dr. Kirin is an Australian-trained Psychologist, with 9 years’ experience in the field. She has extensive expertise in the management and treatment of mental health and psychological issues. She is also Assistant Professor of Psychology at Heriot-Watt University Dubai Campus.
Prior to joining Openminds Psychiatry, Counseling and Neuroscience Center, Dr. Kirin worked in government entities, public healthcare institutions and private clinics in Australia and the UAE. Her experience has traversed across forensic, clinical, and organizational psychology. Passionate about empowering and enabling clients to better understand and take control of their own lives, she delivers individual, couples and group treatment programs, as well as training courses, community outreach, and psycho-educational seminars and workshops.
Dr. Kirin earned her Psychology specialization from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney, Australia. She is licensed locally by the Community Development Authority (CDA) of Dubai, as well as in Australia by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and British Psychological Society.
Dr. Kirin works with adults and older adolescents (aged 16 years and above) to help treat and manage a wide range of mental health issues such as Mood Disorders, Personality Disorders, Stress Reactions, Adjustment disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Trauma-related Disorders, and more. She also works with couples to address couples’ difficulties and challenges.
Driven by the aim to empower clients with the knowledge, skills and self-awareness to make their lives what they want it to be, Dr. Kirin works with individuals and couples in areas such as mood, stress, trauma, personality difficulties, adjustment and more.
