I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the American University of Beirut. Beyond that, I am further trained in innovative empirically-supported treatments, including Coherence Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy.
As a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, I find immense meaning in helping adolescents and adults overcome psychosocial and emotional concerns resulting from difficult life circumstances. In my work, I help individuals, couples, and families with a broad range of psychological difficulties, including depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, grief, post-traumatic stress, dissociative reactions, disordered eating, self-harm, addictions, and interpersonal difficulties.
Prior to joining FSHN, I worked with individuals of different ages and backgrounds across a number of clinical settings. For instance, I worked with individuals recovering from behavioral and chemical addictions, maltreated children and adolescents contending with the aftermath of extreme forms of childhood abuse and neglect, adult survivors of family violence, and adults facing biopsychosocial concerns across the Middle East.
Whether you have been struggling for months, years, or a lifetime, I can help you get to the root of your suffering and guide you to the genuine change you are hoping to make in your life. During our sessions, I bring my expertise in clinical psychology, and you bring your expertise in your life story, as we collaborate on reaching your desired therapeutic goals. Together, as a team, we can discover whatever it is that may be holding you back and define the best ways to deal with it. Your greater ability to navigate life challenges will be translated into greater satisfaction, peace, dynamism, and clarity in your life. My approach is direct, deep, and empowering, yet gentle, trauma-sensitive, and profoundly respectful of your experience.
Through our work together, I help you find out your unique pathway to transformative change or recovery. We will identify the problems or patterns you wish to change, and those particular aspects of yourself that keep you feeling stuck or distressed. During this process, we will pay close attention to your moment-to-moment emotional, physical, and relational experience, as it is through reaching your deepest parts that the most profound transformation can occur. The goal of my therapeutic approach is to help you notice those little micro-second reactions that are based on outdated, deeply rooted unconscious beliefs and predictions, which may lead you to make incorrect judgements and interpretations about yourself, others, and the world. This is in addition to encouraging you to alter these beliefs and predictions to improve your view of yourself, your relationships with others, and your quality of life.. Thus, together, we will not only address your problems but also deepen your awareness of your strengths and capacities, both to help you face your life challenges and feel more self-fulfilled.
