I am a licensed psychologist in the United States and Korea. Drawing on more than 10 years of clinical experience, I help children, adolescents, and adults navigate life complexities and address their psychological concerns (from mood and identity issues to complex trauma). I have worked across hospital, university, residential treatment, community mental health center, and school settings.
I specialize in providing culturally competent integrative psychotherapy, as well as neuropsychological assessment, consultation, crisis intervention, case management, and advocacy. Previously, I held academic positions at two Korean universities as an Assistant Professor of Clinical and Counseling Psychology.
I also received clinical training through various teaching hospitals of the Harvard and Boston University Medical Schools, including the Cambridge Health Alliance, Massachusetts Mental Health Center, and Boston Medical Center. I obtained my B.A. in Psychology from Wellesley College, an Ed.M. in Prevention Science and Practice from Harvard University, and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Boston College. With my roots in three different continents, I have a special interest in global diaspora issues, as well as global mobility, work and career, holistic well-being, trauma, and chronic mental illnesses.
I focus on creating an empathetic, predictable, and safe therapeutic environment through the use of evidence-based techniques, including psychodynamic therapy (PDT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT).
